Recommended motor and battery settings noted in the file
Backup defaults included so you can restore original settings if needed
Before you begin
Ensure your ESC firmware is compatible with Castle Link and the Cobra 8 tune

Step-by-step
Download the tune file to your laptop or phone.
Launch Castle Link on the device with the downloaded file.
Connect your ESC to Castle Link using the appropriate USB/wireless adapter.
Power the ESC using the programming power source (follow Castle Link and ESC manufacturer instructions).
In Castle Link, select “Open” and choose the downloaded tune file.
Review parameters (motor type, battery cell count, throttle profile, brake settings, timing, soft start, thermal limits).
Click “Write” or “Upload” to send the tune to the ESC.
Wait for confirmation that the upload is complete. Do not disconnect power during programming.
Disconnect and perform a bench test with the motor restrained. Verify throttle response and failsafe behavior.
Perform a cautious on-track test. Start with conservative throttle and monitor temperature.
Safety tips
Always program with the motor disconnected unless instructed otherwise by Castle Link documentation.
Keep fingerprints/metal tools away from live motor components during bench tests.
If the ESC behaves unexpectedly after upload, immediately disconnect power and restore the backup/default tune.
Support
If you need assistance with the file or programming steps, contact Castle Creations support or consult the ESC manual.
For tune-specific questions, provide the ESC serial, firmware version, motor model, and battery specs so we can advise adjustments.
FATBOIRACING recommends verifying compatibility and following all manufacturer guidelines when programming ESCs.
